DIY repair BMW E87 E92 E93 FRM3 with Xprog

There is a problem that many people have heard about (and many have also met with it). Your BMW completely refuses outdoor lighting (more precisely, the passing beam and dimensions with the ignition on, but we can not control it), front windows do not work, central locking, interior light either. When diagnosed, the FRM does not communicate. In the mean time, a lot of errors are associated with the connection to this ecu.

The fact is that the failure of the FRM3 module is due to the failure of the eeprom area in the microcontroller (MC9S12XEQ364) controlling this unit. And eeprom dies gradually, until the changes in it reach a critical mass. And then the module works until it needs data from the machine … reboot, whether it’s connecting a diagnosis or removing the battery terminal (trying to start on a weak battery is equivalent to removing it).

Everything can be done much easier! Coding and programming is NOT NECESSARY. The internal memory of the microcontroller MC9S12XEQ364 stores its native eeprom! It is encrypted in the memory area called D-flash, counting which it is possible to completely restore the FRM3 unit’s performance by retaining all ecu coding changes (for example, turning off errors on fog lights when installing Chinese xenon). This saves time, money and time.

The main thing is to correctly consider D-flash, so as not to destroy it. Here’s to you a small step-by-step guide, how to do it with xprog m box ecu programmer:

Then restore eeprom from d-flash. Open the resulting file in xprog. for checking, scroll to the very end of the file, there should be in the open form the number of the car to which the unit belongs.

Before writing the resulting file, MANDATE EEPROM AREA! MANDATORY!

What’s the difference between Benz BE key and BGA key?

Question:

What is the difference between Mercedes BE and BGA benz keys and how can we tell what type is it?

 

Answer:

BGA is new style original MB keys that cannot be opened to read inside MCU to get the pass.

BE key is MB key from China or noimmo, that use other MCU that is not NEC but work the same way and you can read/write/erase/get password by infrared (IR).

When you use original MB key that was used before BGA keys you need to open the key,desolder the nec mcu and you can get the pass only if Rom version is 51 or 57 .

 

How can you tell which is which? by the look of it?

 2.Easiest way you visually tell that’s its a BGA key is first look for the Triangle panic button. Then look at the IR port. The BGA is half window and says Huf on the bottom. the BE keys have a full window with a clear circle in the middle. Also the way the key inserts are they are flipped. and to change the battery BGA the back pops off and uses 1 battery and BE top slides out and has 2 batteries.

(Solved) John Deere SA Error: search engine module can not be loaded

This is for anyone when he/she runs the John Deere Service Advisor heavy duty diagnostic software, the system appears error message that the search engine module can not be loaded and then the program ends.

 

NOTE THAT YOU ARE TRYING ANY TRICK ON YOUR OWN RISK.

 

Optional solutions:

 

Solution 1:

 

Run as system administrator, roll back pc date reactivate using activator Then roll date back to normal date if error still renew once again. Been working for me so far.

 

Note that, don’t know how long it stay working but works im sure someone will have solution for it soon.

Also advice if doing fresh install roll back the date on pc do the install after then install and activations have been done.
Go to task manager look for the service adviser on have it start its tasks in 2030 :save and then reset your pc date should be good for while

 

 

Solution 2:

 

if you set a date before the lightweightidol license expired, start the lightweightidol service, set the real date and start Advisor, it works.

 

 

Solution 3:

 

start advisor. when error comes with “search engine” Close John Deere SA. afterwards set your PC date to feburary 2015. start SA again (run as administrator). it now comes with error on licence. close SA Again. set pc date back to normal. run SA Again. now it Works.

 

 

Solution 4:

 

The search engine error can be solved.
Set back the date, before the expiry date found in Service ADVISOR\SUIR\license.log (august 14 in my case). Start LightweightIDOL service. Set the real date, and Advisor working again.
I made a batch file to simplify it. To make it work Control Panel/Regional/short date format have to be yyyy-mm-dd or you have to modify batch. Maybe you have to modify ServiceADVISOR.exe path too in the batch. Have to run as administrator.

Solution 5:

 

I have had the same error with ssearch engine connection in JD SA.
reinstalled it twice, changed system date back and forward, run activator. No result for me.

But actually I found the solution for this issue.
Just need to install july update from the post http://mhhauto.com/Thread-John-Deere-Ser…#pid758969
And the error disappeared.

Solution 6:

 

back date to 08.10.16
install JD SA, restart, activate, mount latest disk you have (05.2016) and install update, for finish get license error, ignore and close, set actualy date, run JD SA -> works fine, install july update

testing today on 3 laptops (Windows 7 and 10)

Fresh new installations also work but can be much more complicated sure a patch would be much easier. But it can be done with out a patch so far

 

 

In taskmanager I don’t stop any service just put service advisor updater to 2030 to start
